Aims

EuroPSI seeks to broaden the understanding of sex embodiment and gender expression via innovative and critical psychosocial knowledge frameworks. It encourages research and interventions that take account of care users’ perspectives and bring tangible psychological benefits, not just to affected people but also to their advocates and care providers.

Our aims are to:

  • Draw attention to body-normative assumptions embedded in research and practice.

  • Investigate the relationships between normative pressures and psychological well-being.

  • Expand on how sex and gender are understood in the training of health professionals and researchers.

  • Critically develop the role of psychosocial professionals in clinical teams.

We plan to work towards these goals via conferences, online discussion, collaborative research studies and effective dissemination of information to clinical and societal domains.
